Earlier this year, we announced that Quadrant had successfully amassed over 1 million Points-of-Interest (POI) using Geolancer, our cutting-edge data collection and verification platform. At the time, our mapping initiatives were gathering a lot of steam as we rapidly scaled our operations to fulfill the soaring demand for accurate and bespoke POI datasets. In line with our projections, this demand has surged even further, prompting us to accelerate our global mapping efforts.  

We are thrilled to share that we have now reached the 2 million POI mark!  

Here, we discuss some recent mapping projects, why Geolancer is so effective for real-world data collection, and how it will evolve to support a wider range of use cases.

We recently announced that Quadrant had gathered 500,000 Points-of-Interest (POI) via Geolancer, our industry-leading Data-as-a-Service platform. Previously, it took us 10 weeks to double the size of our database from 250,000 POI. This time around, we are delighted to share that we have achieved the same feat even quicker (a mere month and a half) while crossing the 1 million mark!  

Having consistently delivered on our promise of a high-quality, scalable, affordable, and customizable POI solution, we have generated surging demand across a host of sectors and have rapidly expanded our coverage to fulfil it. 

Here, we recap some of our successful projects from the last quarter to highlight the diversity of the use cases that we are enabling.  

Location-based technology and services, such as ride-hailing, online marketplaces, and food delivery have become a vital part of daily life. The effectiveness of these services depends on accurate, recent, and comprehensive point-of-interest (POI) data. However, most public maps and widely used POI data sources are outdated.

Experts predict that the need for location-based services will continue to increase, with a projected growth rate of 24.3% and to an industry market cap of over $300 billion by 2030. As the demand for these services grows, the need for reliable mapping solutions becomes increasingly important.

A few weeks ago, we announced that Quadrant had collected 250,000 POIs through Geolancer. Today, we are excited to share that we have doubled the size of our database to over half a million POIs!  

The increasing demand for Geolancer's manually collected, recent, and attribute-rich data has encouraged our rapid expansion. Besides hitting the half-million mark, we are happy to report that three of the world's top 5 mapping companies are now leveraging Geolancer's industry-leading POI data.

Besides rapid growth, we also have other exciting news to share.

This week, we are celebrating collecting a quarter million Points-of-Interest with Geolancer. We have reached the 250,000 POI milestone in just 12 months, starting in two countries in Southeast Asia, and gradually expanding to five. Scaling a new product from zero is something we are proud of; however, our platform’s real strength lies in its quality. There is not a single dataset in the industry that even comes close to Geolancer’s accurate, complete, and rich metadata.
